I struggled a lot with deciding how visible to make that effect in the second panel!

HOLY COW we've got theories all over the place! I'm loving this so much! ^_^ Don't be afraid to jump in and get involved, everyone! Seeing you all talking to one another because of Dot X is such an incredibly surreal feeling and I am having the time of my life silently watching from over here! :3

OH, also Ty1233456789 asked me specifically when I'm going to put up another Seamer-drawing-timelapse video, and I'll do that sooner than later! I'm glad to see they were enjoyed! ^_^

Speaking of videos, kinda, it's SKYJAM LIVESTREAM time again! We'll be playing Mario Kart 8, online, against our fans, Saturday the 25th at 8pm EST!

If you wanna join in and race against us, be sure to send a friend request to Jam's Wiiu! His NNID is "jlcbassman"!

It's going to be a blast! Even if you don't have the game or can't play, join us for some fun in the chat! ^_^

Yes, Terra and Fang investigative duo for the win!
I like how basically in my own mind, Fang has become just as important a character as Pudding. We don't know Fang and so she is from a whole other world in a way, and Fang and Pudding haven't talked yet, so I can't wait to see how they interact. I'm sure Pudding, in her entire life, has never really been accused of anything, only punished without reason by Miles, so I wonder how Pudding will react to being interrogated for being "off." Will she flip out from the pressure, or try to stand her ground, but fail? The most boring outcome is that everything in this confrontation turns out alright and they start working together. It'd be way more exciting if Fang, on her quest to get the book back (because obviously Frisky doesn't have any right to keep it if it's so interesting and valuable but she didn't read it because she just couldn't be bothered to go to her own library), didn't fully trust either Anaconda or Pudding, adding a whole new dynamic to the story. We've just been introduced to this new world of Fang, Terra, Denim, and Paste (Am I missing anyone?) and I kinda want them to stay separate for a while so we can get to know it more before it just mixes in with the ever growing world of Pudding where it becomes meaningless.

Sky, I would like to know what you think, though I don't know what you could say...
Phate 24th Feb 2017, 8:36 AM edit delete reply
Even with all these things happening, this ball's gonna last for 2 days. We're barely getting started.
I do wonder if Anaconda's just going to try and leave now since she has what she wants.

AV (I'm just playing around with my signature)
Hey, I hope you don't think I'm just trying to get special attention (pardon my word choice, I'm not good at... words) or something, I just think it would be great if you took your own advise and jumped in and got involved! I don't know if there's a better place for having a conversation with you, but I DEFINITELY would like to somehow.

It would be pretty weird if she stayed, but I bet she know's leaving early would be suspicious. Also, there has been mention of a gate or wall or something that Gell said Speedy would have had to jump if he had gone alone at the start and I bet that thing is staying shut now that the ball has begun. So instead of leaving or hanging around with the book, I bet she's gonna go outside and hide it then come back.
Phate 24th Feb 2017, 9:58 AM edit delete reply
@AdvocateofVoid That's true I forgot about the wall thing. She'll probably stash it somewhere since I doubt she would need to use it now.
Also I do like your theories about possible Pudding vs Fang and Terra interrogations. My only thing is that Pudding has Clone to back her up, along with most of the Dot X cast that were present for that all Demon scenario.

I could see it as a sort of Clones' Friend VS Pudding's friends situation, or An alliance against Anaconda. And since the Necklace is also in place, there may be a whole other faction we are unaware of.

@HetreaGod Also I agree with A0V. Hop in the chatpool's fine.

Why is it I can reply to my own message...
Why Can do I have option to edit other people's messages, but it says I can't?
I have so many questions.
triforce fandom 24th Feb 2017, 10:21 AM edit delete reply
@everyone; I have a "something" new to add to my angeling theory, angelings can be able to read peoples' dreams.
Phate 24th Feb 2017, 10:27 AM edit delete reply
@triforce fandom What if it doesn't just stop at reading people's dreams. What if they can enter dreams too? What if Speedy's an angeling, or at least part angeling. All things considered we really don't know all that much about some of these characters afterall. (Pure speculation but I like that theory)
AdvocateofVoid 24th Feb 2017, 12:04 PM edit delete reply
Yes, I also like the idea that the friends of friends (or boyfriends/girlfriends) wouldn't exactly get along right away, as they usually don't in real life either, and as I've said before I really think it'd be cool if we saw that for once in her perfect little life somebody doesn't instantly get along with and befriend Pudding, and then got to see how she would deal with someone not liking her.

Yeah, you can reply to your own comments, but no one else's.

@triforce fandom
Well, it's definitely an interesting theory, but in some ways it doesn't hold up.
1. To classify any Mobian as an 'Angeling' wouldn't really set them apart from any other Mobian as all Mobians share Mobius, a flightless Angel, as a common ancestor.
(However, if you really want to find a character who might turn out to be an angel, read the first four paragraphs of the The Legend of Mobius section and all of the Mobian Culture and Appearance section of the Introduction and then take a look at Speedy and Zeda)
2. If you're theory was true, that would mean that Audrey is an 'Angeling' also, and the problem with that is, as Audrey is pretty much fully matured, there would be signs that she is a matured Angel (wings, white fur, et c.)

Still, it is a good theory and I would love to see your evidence that you're right and I'm wrong. C'mon, dude hit me with your best shot! Make your theory punch my theories in their collective face.
Sky 24th Feb 2017, 12:28 PM edit delete reply
So this is the first moment I've had to check the comments since I put this page up, and like a genie summoned here I am to respond as requested! :D

Hoo boy. I feel like there's a lot to cover here but as always I want to avoid spoiling things! Let's see what I CAN say!

I suppose one note I can make is that the events of this chapter have been set in stone since December 2015 when I wrote it, so alas, none of this speculation will have an actual impact on where things go, but I think that just makes it more exciting if anyone is proven to be correct in the future!
The upcoming 'interrogation' scene's going to be a lot of fun, though as we see at the end of this page we're jumping scenes again back up to the roof! I hope you all don't mind waiting just a little longer! ;)

I like Phate's use of the term 'faction' for what's going on in this chapter!
I feel like I should point out that right now, only Pudding, Mi, Audrey and Danny are aware that Pudding is possessed! As we saw in the 'Tonight' chapter, they've been keeping it to themselves. It's a bit of a personal problem. Clone, Hurricane, etc don't know about the possession, even though they were there at the tower on Time Mountain- That was the last time they saw or heard from the Demon!

I don't know why replies work the way they do and I am powerless to change them. Sorry! >_<

The new Angel/Dream theory that TF has put forward is also very interesting! I love how the "Introduction" page has become an important document to reference during these theory sessions! :D

You're all very clever, and I wonder how many things will be figured out before their official reveal, much like the names of the newest 12 characters were...
triforce fandom 24th Feb 2017, 1:10 PM edit delete reply
ONLY angelings can read, not enter, peoples' dreams btw Speedy is one of those angelings that can enter peoples' dreams, but not be able to remember being in their dreams so yeah sorry for not getting into detail of this theory i came up with. btw demonettes can also enter peoples dreams as well but like angelings they don't remember as well.

@secretkeeper has a fair point. But I must mention that Hurrican doesn't seem to have wind powers...Wait what if Hurrican has windo if Hurrican has wind powers?

I agree with you on that it's be interesting to have the aspect of people not liking other people...if that made sense. Sort of like how Clone and Speedy almost were. Because boyfriend/girlfriend thing aside, I can already see that not a lot of these personalities are going to get along that well.(during the earlier stages of the ball)
If that is the case It would be cool if there were some new friendships once this ball is over. Not necessarily with Pudding(nothing against her of course). But like Gel and Midnight, or Hurrican and Blue.
I guess like, people who like Pudding's friends but not necessarily Pudding.
AdvocateofVoid 26th Feb 2017, 12:28 PM edit delete reply
And then suddenly, AV remembers that they have theories and such to make...

Eyyy! ;) I would make, like, finger guns at you or something, but I don't know if there is a universally understood emoji for that. If not, then I would like to propose this as the finger guns emoji (I don't have a Japanese keyboard setting, so this isn't gonna be even a little good): [~=* * (HA, nope!)

First of all, I love that you made a quatrain to explain to Lefty that things are already as out of hand as possible.

Now, (this is no longer just to Phate, btw) since there is gonna be a scene change, let's talk about the last 6 or so pages as a whole. First, we see this oh-so-famous library that Frisky said she's never used! In this page we see some nice use of light mechanics and Fang in her natural element. In the next page (dudes, correct me if I'm wrong because I'm going completely off of memory here. That's how many times I've already checked and rechecked these pages in past analyses and theories), Terra is ready to move on, but Fang seems reluctant to leave, which hints at her introverted nature to surround herself only with her close friends in quiet places like libraries even during social gatherings such as parties and balls. Shortly after, Fang finds a book on Angels and exclaims how odd it is, meaning either that the Angels have fully excommunicated the Mobians, leaving them with no knowledge of their winged counterparts, or the Mobians have some time ago started to believe the Angels were a myth. Anaconda, who I still assume must have heard Fangs exclamation, approaches her to somehow take the book. She gets lucky, because Fang reacts and takes a swipe at Anaconda, giving her an opportunity to grab the book while she's distracted. Terra hears Fang's battle cry and runs to the scene to check out the carnage from her primal friend's attack, which may be surprising to most, but the most surprising thing to Terra is that there isn't any carnage. Anaconda plays off the whole thing well, but Terra know's she's suspicious and is hiding it pretty badly. After Anaconda absconds with her prize, knowledge and a Lamborghini, Terra was like (I not quoting this) 'Bro, what did she do?' and Fang was like 'Literally nothing. I just like trying to murder people.' then Terra is all like 'Ok, I'm completely fine with this excuse. Who else do you feel like senselessly killing?' and Fang says 'How about Clone's new girlfriend that he ditched us for?' and Terra is just like 'Sure man. I, as a secondary character am also in love with her, the main character, but I also love being an accessory to murder even more.' (I know, I captured the scene perfectly. Lol, but seriously, I'm holding off on giving my real interpretation of the last two pages because even though I'm pretty sure I know what's happening in them, I know there's gonna be more on them later in like two or three pages.)

@Secretkeeper626 @Phate
All of the names make sense in a way.
Hurricane's name is verbal irony, as he likes to be calm and collected. Speedy is both quick of mind and of body. Clone's name is a little harder, because I don't think his name literally means something. Since all Mobians choose their own names, I bet Clone saw his own shadow when he was small and though 'he and I are the same.'
Secretkeeper626 26th Feb 2017, 1:56 PM edit delete reply
@AV OOOooOOOoOh that makes complete sense! @heteragod if parent Mobians leave their young to fend for themselves, would siblings work together, or would they just go there separate ways?
Secretkeeper626 26th Feb 2017, 2:58 PM edit delete reply
What if Fang is using a necklace similar to Audrey's, but instead of spiritual magic, it's nature magic or animal magic or something like that, but that's just a theory, a Dot X theory!
AdvocateofVoid 27th Feb 2017, 5:56 PM edit delete reply
What makes you think it's a necklace?
Firstly, we haven't seen any proper magical necklaces, the only one we know of is basically just a magic amplifier, and doesn't have any magic of it's own. Secondly, the necklace would have to activate with a spell, otherwise Audrey's necklace would affect Goo when she's wearing it, and we didn't see Fang use a spell. Thirdly, Audrey said you can't even use the necklace unless you're born with magic, and if that's the case, then she wouldn't need the necklace in the first place.
However, may I present an alternative prediction (that I doubt anyone but Sky is gonna see anyway)? What if, since Fang clearly does have some sort of magic, be it a curse or intentional, I bet if she put on the magic amplifying necklace she would go crazy animalish (Ok, seriously, Sky. What is Fang? Is she part wolf? Is she part something else? Is she purposefully changing?) and become part of the conflict.
Phate 27th Feb 2017, 6:17 PM edit delete reply
Fang + Magic Amplifier = crazed frenzy(or werewolf[or what you said]) would make sense given that Fang and Terra refer to this magic as "instinct rush"
There's a chance that Fang doesn't realized it's magic and that's partially why she wanted to see the library(unless magic works like adrenaline here[fight or flight]). Especially since when Audrey used she could summon a ghost and later a demon. Though I also wonder if Anaconda has magic as well since Fang mentioned sensing danger from her AND pudding. It would make sense considering Fang's pretty violent reaction. That or Anaconda is just a force to be reckoned with.

Also on the subject of names, I like your explanation for Hurrican's name, but given that all th Mobians have, as gel put it "silly names". I think Clone's name came from him being based off another character?(for example Mi, because they are both foxes I think)
AdvocateofVoid 27th Feb 2017, 6:44 PM edit delete reply
That's very true! I never considered before that Fang was really looking for something specific, only that she would rather be there than anywhere else. I'm not to sure about this instinct thing. I mean, I'm sure it exists, but is it called and "instinct rush" or is it called "something else rush?" The way Terra says it, or even because it's Terra saying it and not Fang, makes me think that instinct rush isn't really an official name, but rather an informal description of what it is Fang does.
Phate 27th Feb 2017, 6:52 PM edit delete reply
Thanks! And Fair point. If they are friends chances are it's could be a nickname for it.

And another think I just wanted to mention. While there has been a lot of focus one Fang's group, Pudding's group, And Miles' group. I can't help but wonder about the rest of our guest. They could serve as bystanders, but there's a chance there's someone else lurking about(especially since someone is going out of their way to destroy cameras[It could be Anaconda but I don't think she's trying to be sneaky right now. To anyone else that book seemed like nonsense probably])
AdvocateofVoid 27th Feb 2017, 7:03 PM edit delete reply
There you go, editing your comment while I'm in the middle of replying. I would just edit my comment as well, but that would be confusing.
Since we're on the subject of Clone's name, here's an idea I want to pitch. Since there are some names I think Sky picked rather than the characters themselves (if you get what I mean), I can't really tell if Clone named himself, or if Sky named him in a way that helps the plot. Pudding, Sparx, and Moonlight were the ones I thought most likely named themselves before Sky told me that they all do, but that doesn't really make sense for characters like Hurricane, Fade, and Anaconda, who would probably have named themselves something else if they really could, given how they are. Like I just said, Clone could be either. On one hand, it seems like 'clone' signifies that he was at first nothing more than a replacement for Speedy. On the other, I can actually imagine that, because he is grey and didn't know how shadows worked at the time, when he was young, he saw his shadow and thought he had a twin or, if you will, a clone.

OMG, stop! I caught you this time, so I'm just gonna reply to both the edit and the new comment in one comment.
I think that if you wanted to find a second evil force, you should probably look toward Clementine and Dusk (and Moonlight who probably got roped into it, if there even was anything to get roped into, I mean) who based on how they act, may be art thieves. Remember, this is an insanely rich girl's party, so there could be multiple threats who aren't even there for the same reasons.
Secretkeeper626 27th Feb 2017, 8:04 PM edit delete reply
Huh I can see the reply button right now, I wonder if it works? Well I find out. @AoV frisky owns an entire castle! If that's not an attractive nuance, then I don't know what is. So of course someone's going to steal something from friskys castle, I mean if they can afford that, then what else does frisky have? ( besides a skyjem dress of course) so a question I have for all of you is this: what would someone steal at a giant, two day, formal party being hosted by a rich kid who owns an ENTIRE CASTLE!?

Sky 27th Feb 2017, 7:51 PM edit delete reply
Don't let me interrupt because I love seeing the back and forth between commenters but I DO want to explain something with the names!

As I've explained several times in easy to miss places such as in the comments of older pages and the 300th page interview video, these characters were created by me and my friends during elementary school, and so I've only named a handful of them! In the bios section every character (Except for the 12 new ones- for now) have a 'From the mind of' section, which details who created that character originally. The only characters I named are the ones I created back then, being Speedy, Fade, Sparx, Lime, Banana, Blue and KINDA Mi.

Though I've developed all these character's personalities over the years enough to really shape them into my own creations, (Some required more work than others) I've kept all of their original names.

This is why it's canon that the characters name themselves- It's basically the truth in real life too! I don't know why Clone is named Clone, both in our world and in canon. It's like how I didn't know why the series was called DotX until Turp (One of the other original DotX creators) explained it to me in the comments of the 'My Hero' chapter!

Sorry for it to be so anticlimactic!
Back in 2006 I wrote a storyline where Clone WAS actually a failed clone of Mi in an attempt to break him and Pudding up but it's been totally scrapped and is just some non-canon trivia now! Also for several years Clone and Fade were adopted brothers. THE MORE YOU KNOW~

AdvocateofVoid 27th Feb 2017, 8:13 PM edit delete reply
Welp, there we go. Discussion over. GG, Phate, you win, I lose. You get the cookie. I would not have guessed that Clone was actually, you know, a clone. But I think I read a bit of that wrong. Are you saying that Clone was made as an attempt to break up Pudding and a third party, or that Clone was made as an attempt to break up Pudding and Mi?

All I can do still is reply to my own stupid comments *grumble grumble grumble*
Sky 27th Feb 2017, 8:29 PM edit delete reply
Give it another read, but I'll clarify here:

Clone was created by a pair of my friends. I don't know why his name is Clone!

In 2007, after Clone was an established character for a good long time, I wrote a storyline in which Clone was a failed clone of Mi, in an attempt to break up Clone and Pudding, since she wouldn't want to date a clone of her brother, but that has all been scrapped.

It's important to keep in mind that DotX didn't have any sort of story structure until I started writing this comic. It was very disjointed and with 5+ people making up stories for it! This comic is me making it into something that can be enjoyed by anyone!
AdvocateofVoid 27th Feb 2017, 8:42 PM edit delete reply
Oh, I understand. You meant that in an attempt to break up Clone and Pudding, you created a storyline that revealed that Clone was a clone of Mi. Sorry that this comment is basically just me repeating your explanation, but I can't let anyone think I don't understand something. It just cannot be allowed. (Lol, jk, I really don't know why I felt a need to make this comment, but I don't think it's because I'm that egotistical.)
AdvocateofVoid 27th Feb 2017, 8:48 PM edit delete reply
I'm really jealous that you and your friends just decided to make a comic one day, then did. The way you describe it is like it was just that two step process, which is really not at all how it's going for me. If I can get my friends to do something, they're never motivated to get passed the first few steps of it. From just trying to play a nice board game (Betrayal at House on the Hill) to the time I was like, "I guess I should make a ComicFury account if I want to edit my comments (Lol, I still couldn't because I didn't have the account when I made the comment I wanted to edit). Hey it's giving me the option to make my own webcomic... all right let's do this, I'll see if Storm and Page want to help," it's like they're not nearly as invested as I am.
Sky 27th Feb 2017, 9:00 PM edit delete reply
Oh goodness no, I think you misunderstand again!

I wish I kept track of which pages I've left these long explanation comments on, I'd just direct you to one of those. Does anyone wanna keep track of that for me next time they read through old pages?? I could make up a nice little FAQ!

BUT anyway quick version: DotX was created by me and my friends as a collection of characters and stories that we acted out as children during recess from 2004 to 2008ish!

I started this comic YEARS later in 2013 because I wanted to make an actual concrete series out of Dot X, rather than just loose stories and forgotten characters! I work on this comic alone though, with the exception of Heartless, who writes the bios, but whom I didn't know until after I was in college.

None of the original Dot X creators (besides me) are involved in the creation of this comic! I've taken it all on myself, as even back in elementary school I was the only one drawing Dot X comics!

Turp, one of my dear friends and the original creator of Gell/Chia/many others, does read it though, and occasionally leaves comments in the chat! Hi Turp! Thanks for stick(y)ing around! :D

But yeah point is I'm the only one actually writing/drawing this comic!
AdvocateofVoid 27th Feb 2017, 9:14 PM edit delete reply
My art skills are subpar at best and if I wanted to make a comic I would have to rely on Page to artsy stuff. If I were to be a creator, my best bet would be making Youtube videos analysing the creations of others. Even though I know this, making a webcomic has always been the more appealing option, mostly because it would allow me to tell my own stories rather than explain others. It would also solve the issue that I don't want strangers seeing my face. I honestly want your opinion on this as someone who both does YouTube and is making a webcomic? Do you think I should do one or the other or both or neither?

(Sitting here wondering if I should even click post. This is pretty personal and I don't know if a question like this will weird you out or not. The fact is, I've loved doing this whole analysis thing because it's letting me do pretty much the only thing I'm good at (other than badminton, but that's off-topic) and share it with others, and so far it looks like they've enjoyed it too. I think I'll click post)
Sky 27th Feb 2017, 9:27 PM edit delete reply
I usually avoid getting into personal stuff like this but do what feels right to you! You'll get better at art via practicing, and you don't HAVE to show your face to do youtube. Don't let things like that stop you from trying new things out!

Also I asked Clone's original creator where the name came from, and this is what she said:

"Clone was originally [TURP]'s OC ! He was a robot I think but when we played at recess I ended up being him and kind of adopted the name while simultaneously making a new character entirely. He was meant to be a clone of tails as a sidekick for shadow since I loved shadow so much. It's why they have the same color scheme, but the name itself came from [TURP]'s character clone."
