I think everyone knew Professor Inventor was going to be Miles in some shape or form.

Just to clear up things that might be causing confusion though, when we see Pudding, that's reality! When we see Super Duper Hero X, that's what Pudding sees in her imagination- As this page demonstrates, we'll be hoping back and forth between the two!

I'm certain you've been told this numerous times, but I just gotta ask, was it intended for Miles to look so similar to Miles 'Tails' Prowers?

Good question! I've spoken about this here and there but I don't mind repeating for the newer readers! :D

'Dot X' as you know it was originally just me and my friends pretending to be these characters during recess throughout elementary school, all those years ago. Originally however, we were all just being Sonic characters. As time went on we started making up our own characters to play as, generally as little siblings to the main Sonic cast. Years later I chose to remove the sonic characters from the story and focus solely on the characters we created. This was around the time I was developing Hetrea as a concept! When I removed the Sonic characters, things got a lot better, though I had a problem. Pudding was created to be the younger sibling to Tails, and her having a protective inventor older brother was a fairly big part of Dot X as a whole. I couldn't just REMOVE her older sibling altogether, so I decided to replace Tails with a new character that I'd write for the Dot X game I was making at the time. Pudding's new older brother would also now be one of the main 'villains' of Dot X, (If you can even call him that,) and he'd antagonize Speedy/Clone/ETC. It was hard to completely replace a character though, so the name 'Miles' and his yellow fur are an homage to the Sonic character that he took the place of. The goggles were added to further remove him from Tails, (This all happened pre-SonicBoom,) and I've been slowly changing his appearance further by growing out his hair/mane and making him less naked. Originally Miles was only a minor character, but after I finished the first chapter of this comic, I realized he'd be something of a star.

Oh wow, I'm rambling. The answer to your question is yes!
