I'm so happy to see all the positive responses to the freehand in that last page! It'll become a standard for the comic going forward, starting with the ball-

Which is very soon! This is technically the last page of this chapter! On Friday the end-of-chapter page will go up, and from there... I'm not sure what to do exactly. The next chapter is the Ball, but as is tradition I'll be taking a short vacation from the end of December into the begining of January, as I'll be spending nearly all that time with family for the holidays/birthdays. This is an issue because I'm not sure when to start this break, exactly. I'll be like, 3 or maybe 4 pages into the Ball chapter when the break starts, and I'm not sure if that'll be an exciting place to start the break in terms of storytelling.
On top of all that, I'm not sure how ready I am to start the Ball, as I have a TON of dresses to design and character art to do... But I can probably get that done as I make the pages..

Long story short, I'm not sure what to do! I present to you Three Options for the scheduling of this month!

A. Updates continue as usual until the 22nd and then I go on break until early January, and the break happens at some point early in the Ball Chapter. When my break is over, the Ball will continue.

B. Once the end of chapter page is up, I go on break earlier than expected, from the 4th until New Years. On January 1st, the ball begins and will run through without being interrupted.

C. Something else?

I really don't know what to do. Maybe you don't mind the ball being interrupted by my break, in which case option A works best! I'm not sure! Please let me know what you think!!!

I would go for option B, myself. If you would rather take the vacation from 22nd through January, but still want to keep the flow of the story cohesive, then why not start a buffer? As in, make the pages that you would have uploaded beforehand, and upload them during your break, after New Years. Or would that be too stressful?

Regardless of when the pages are made, can you release them slower to eliminate the break?

I'd go with option-A, because Christmas and stuff will happen after the break. That gives everybody something else to enjoy and look forward too while there aren't Dot X updates.

@BlueTinge:

I do have a bit of a buffer going already, (I'm generally two pages ahead nowadays,) but I'm already spending most of my waking hours working on the comic, so I don't know how I'd be able to squeeze in the time to make enough pages to cover the Holidays for me. :\ That's partly why my break extends into January, actually! To get a bigger buffer ready for when I come back after my Birthday!

@Reaper Dragon:

...I hadn't even considered that. I think I could make that happen. If I updated once a week through the holidays, we'd only be losing about 3 or MAYBE 4 pages until I go back to my current schedule. I hope that wouldn't confuse anyone, though!

@Darth Escar:

That's a good point- I'm not the only one celebrating the holidays! Maybe I'm putting too much thought into this.

Keep your suggestions coming, everyone! When the next page goes up I'll post a little calendar with it detailing when DotX will be updating!

(Also! A side note! Society6 is running sales throughout the month, so if anyone is interested in DotX Clothing or Iphone cases or Mugs or any of the other many products I've got up there, you should keep an eye on my store! What better way to surprise your loved ones than a pillow featuring characters they don't know!?)

Personally, I think you should take the break after the end-of-chapter page is up. It gives you more time to work out the kinks, design the dresses, make character art, and the fans aren't "left hanging" at the end of a page, considering that you tend to leave pages on small cliffhangers. But you should do what works for you. It is your comment after all.
